Merodie Ann Johnston, 48, 875 Folds Road, Carrollton, died Friday, Oct 3, 2003, at her residence, following a long fight against cancer.

Mrs. Johnston was born June 16, 1955, in St. Augustine, FL to Bernard and Donna Kuntz.

She was a registered nurse, graduating from Grady Memorial School of Nursing in Atlanta. Her long nursing career included Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, Bremen Nursing Home, Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton and two traveling nurse assignments at Atlanta Area Hospitals.

Survivors include her husband James; sons, Brian and Aaron; parents; and brothers Steven and Daniel.

Funeral services will be at 2 pm Saturday at South Care Memorial Chapel, 2201 S. Cobb Drive, Smyrna, with the Rev. David Armstrong-Reiner officiating.

Visitation and viewing will be from 1 to 2 pm prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, Merodie requested memorial contributions to her minor son, Aaron, for his continuing education or to Healthfield Hospice, Suite 315, 6600 Powers Ferry Road, Atlanta AG 30339.
