Services for Donald W. Thompson, 67 of 2802 Archer Drive, East Moline, IL will be 11 a.m. Friday (22 December 1989) at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, Silvis, IL. Visitation is 2 - 4 and 7 -9 p.m. today (21 December 1989). Valley Lodge 547, AF & AM, Coal Valley, LI, will conduct Masonic services at 6:30 p.m. He died Tuesday (18 December 1989) at United Medical Center, Moline, IL. Mr. Thompson married Marian Denhardt in 1943 in Brigham City, Utah. He was a brake and alignment worker at Kenney's Tire Shop, East Moline, for 30 years, retiring in 1979. He also owned and operated Don's Golf Cart Shop, East Moline, for the pat 15 years. He was a member of Valley Lodge 547 and server as master twice and was currently tiler; a member of Valley Chapter 247, Order of Eastern Star, Coal Valley, IL, and server as patron four times; and a member of Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Moline; American Legion Post 227, East Moline; and American Association of Retired Persons. Memorials may be made to Valley Lodge Building Fund, Scottish Rite Building Fund, or Eastern Star Home. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cheryl A. Durham of San Raphael, CA; sons, Donald Jr., Rapids City, IL; David, Moline; and Michael A., Robert W. and Kenneth M., all of East Moline; 10 grandchildren; and a brother, Oscar L., Yreka, CA. |
